I, Lourens ten Napel and Marieta, my wife, are the owners of the Sivhana affix, which is registered with KUSA. We have two beautiful daughters, called Milan and her younger sister Leanzč.
I've been a staffie lover and owner since the age of 14. My first staffie was a son of UK & SA Champion, Belnite Dark Huntsman of Zutar, who was also a winner of the terrier group at Crufts in the U.K. Although I could not show Warrior (Colrany Black Power), because I was too young, I'm sure he would have gained his title as he was an excellent example of the breed. I could not have asked for a better friend, he truly opened my eyes about staffies and right there and then I made a vow never to own any other dog than a staffie.
Warrior grew old and I met Marieta some years ago, so we decided to buy a new stafford when we move into our new home. On a day I bought a newspaper that would lead me to one of the best reds ever to be shown in South Africa, SA CH. Sylon Saphooka Bullet of Sivhana. Bullet is one of the most loving, reliable staffords that you will ever have the pleasure of meeting, he watched over us and was a true nanny dog as he protected Milan when she was only 1 year old from going near the swimming pool and kept strangers away from her.
Our show career started at an open show of the North West Staffordshire Bull Terrier club, when Bullet stood perfect at the right moment and he won reserve best puppy in show under Mr Koos Richards. How can one not be bitten by the bug if you win at your first show ever. All credit must go to Bullet, I was not a very good handler then. Just comes to show that Bullet is the ultimate show dog!
We, as a family are very passionate about our staffords. They sleep in the house at evenings, and in cold winter nights they even have their own heater in their room. Our little girl, Milan probably knew the dogs names before she could even say mamma or pappa. We exercise our staffords almost daily, we walk them for about 4 km's at a time, normally early in the mornings or late in the evenings when it is cooler.
